ADVOCACY AND INFLUENCE

Goal: Equip destination organization professionals to engage with political and community stakeholders to build support and secure funding.

Approach: Provide adaptable messaging, data and tools that help members build stakeholder support while allowing for local nuance and political diversity across destinations.

Guiding Questions: 1. How can destination organizations effectively communicate their value to policymakers and residents? 2. What innovative funding models are helping destinations diversify revenue streams? 3. How can destination organizations prepare boards, staff and partners to act as advocates? 4. What lessons can be learned from destinations that have secured sustainable funding or influenced policy? 5. How can advocacy be embedded into daily operations, not just during moments of crisis?

RESILIENCE AND READINESS

Goal: Improve the ability of destination organizations to prepare for and adapt to financial, political, social and environmental disruptions.​

Approach: O ffer frameworks, readiness practices and strategies that help members strengthen internal capacity and identify ways to build stakeholder relationships.

Guiding Questions: 1. What types of disruptions are most likely to impact destinations, and how can they prepare?

2. How can destinations build resilience into financial planning and budgeting? 3. What strategies have helped destination organizations recover from crises? 4. How can teams build internal capacity and readiness during stable periods? 5. What role do cross-sector partnerships play in destination readiness?
