INDUSTRY SECTOR ADVOCACY & RESEARCH Continue to raise the industry’s voice through key initiatives such as the DestinationNEXT Future Study 2025, providing critical insight into future trends. Additionally, expand research efforts like the Destination Effect Awareness Program, which explores the economic impact of destination perceptions on meetings and events, helping to elevate the visibility and relevance of our sector. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TALENT ATTRACTION Continue to foster talent development through initiatives such as the 30 Under 30 Program, which recognizes the next generation of industry leaders, and the HBCU Scholarship Initiative (Pathways to Succes Program), aimed at diversifying the workforce by providing opportunities for students from historically black colleges and universities. Additionally, the AI Certificate Program will equip destination professionals with the knowledge and skills to integrate artificial intelligence solutions, ensuring our members are prepared for the future of the industry. GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT & SUSTAINABLE DESTINATIONS Strengthen global impact by advancing inclusive and sustainable destination management. This includes launching the Global Accessibility Learning Series to help destinations create more welcoming environments for travelers with diverse abilities, alongside the Destination Stewardship Initiative, which will support sustainable tourism practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These efforts will ensure that destinations are both accessible and resilient, fostering a global approach to responsible tourism. SOCIAL IMPACT & WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT Promoting impact remains a focus with projects like the LGBTQ+ Welcoming Toolkit, guiding destinations in creating welcoming environments for all travelers. We will also expand our efforts to diversify the workforce through the Workforce Diversification and Retention Narrative Development, showcasing career stories from diverse leaders to inspire the next generation of destination professionals. FOUNDATION GROWTH & STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS In 2025, the foundation will strengthen and support transformative programs by increasing fundraising efforts and building strategic partnerships. With the goal of raising $1.1 million through the annual investment campaign, these funds will support initiatives that drive meaningful impact for destination organizations worldwide. The increased investment will ensure the foundation’s continued success in advancing key areas such as professional development, research and global engagement.
